Our Governing Body

At Oak Haven School, our Governing Body plays an important role in supporting and challenging the school to ensure that every learner has the opportunity to Empower, Heal and Thrive.

Our governors work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to provide strategic oversight, accountability and support. They bring a range of skills, experience and perspectives to their role and are committed to ensuring that Oak Haven continues to develop as an outstanding specialist SEMH provision.

The Governing Body is passionate about ensuring that our learners receive high-quality education, exceptional pastoral support and opportunities that enable them to develop confidence, resilience and the skills they need for their future. Governors are particularly committed to ensuring that our trauma-informed and relational approach remains central to the ethos of the school, while maintaining high expectations for behaviour, attendance, teaching, learning and achievement.

Our governors provide both support and appropriate challenge, helping the school to evaluate its performance, identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions about the future development of Oak Haven. They are committed to working collaboratively with staff, learners, parents and carers and our wider community.

Our Chair and Vice Chair

Holly Simpson – Chair of Governors

Holly Simpson is the Chair of Governors at Oak Haven School. She provides leadership to the Governing Body and works closely with the Headteacher and governors to ensure that the school remains focused on its strategic priorities, its values and, most importantly, the needs and experiences of our learners.

Thomas Gleeson – Vice Chair of Governors

Thomas Gleeson is the Vice Chair of Governors. He supports the Chair and Governing Body in fulfilling their responsibilities and contributes to the strategic oversight and continued development of the school.

Together, the Governing Body is committed to supporting Oak Haven School as it continues to grow and develop, ensuring that every learner is known, valued and supported to achieve their potential.
