Governors' Information and Duties

Governors and Governance at Oak Haven School

At Oak Haven School, we are committed to strong, effective governance that supports our mission to provide a nurturing and aspirational learning environment for children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Currently, Oak Haven School is overseen by an Interim Executive Board (IEB). The IEB has been put in place on a temporary basis to provide strategic leadership, ensure accountability, and support the school during this period of transition and development.

The IEB is chaired by Chris Forrest, who is supported by Paul Evans, Jacqui Potts, and Tracey Torr. Together, they bring a wealth of experience in education, leadership, and SEND provision. Their key responsibilities include:

  • Setting the school’s strategic direction
  • Ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and safeguarding
  • Overseeing the school’s financial performance
  • Holding school leaders to account for educational outcomes

As we continue to move forward, we are in the process of establishing a new, permanent governing body during this term. This new governing body will take over the strategic oversight of the school and work in partnership with staff, parents, and the wider community to ensure the best possible outcomes for all our pupils.

We are grateful to the IEB for their commitment and guidance during this important period, and we look forward to welcoming a dedicated team of governors who will help shape the future of Oak Haven School
