Counselling
Counselling is a talking therapy that involves a counsellor listening to the students to help them explore thoughts and feelings impacting your mental health and well-being. They can address a range of issues such as feelings of panic, anxiety, stress, depression, and low self-esteem.
Reading Lexonik
Unique in its approach and delivery, Lexonik promotes reading for knowledge, fluency of decoding and word mastery.
Through specific targeted instruction and fun exercises and activities, Lexonik teaching focuses on the structure of the English language at a range of age-appropriate levels, suitable for learners aged 10 and above, across an entire range of learning settings.
The Zen Den
The sensory room at our school is a great space that has significantly enhanced the learning environment for our students, particularly those with sensory processing needs, autism, ADHD and SEMH. The room is thoughtfully designed to provide a calming and engaging atmosphere that caters to a range of sensory experiences, making it a versatile tool for both relaxation and stimulation, depending on the needs of each student.
DOG THERAPY
Therapy dogs in schools provide a wide range of benefits, including boosting attendance, motivation, and confidence in students, while reducing anxiety and improving learnin outcomes like reading and writing levels. They enhance social skills and self-esteem, foster trust and empathy, and can serve as a distraction during stressful situations. Furthermore, these dogs promote a positive school environment, increase engagement, and teach children responsibility and respect for living beings.
MUSIC
Music interventions utilize music-based techniques to improve various aspects of a child’s well-being, including emotional regulation, communication, social skills, and physical development, especially for children with disabilities or trauma. These interventions can include activities like music therapy, group drumming, songwriting, and music-assisted relaxation.
Literacy & Numeracy
Our Shine Interventions program, offers a targeted intervention system for reading and maths that helps identify and address learning gaps to build pupil confidence. Developed by Hodder Education, these interventions are designed to provide teachers with the resources needed for targeted, individual, and group support in specific areas of reading and maths.
We also offer a wide range of whole school interventions that run along our bespoke group/ 1:1 interventions, for example: gross & fine motor skills, social and emotional, sensory circuits and emotion coaching.
