Welcome from our Headteacher

A Message from Our Headteacher

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Oak Haven School.

Based in Heywood, Rochdale, we are a specialist SEMH setting for learners in Key Stages 2–4 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Our mission is simple yet powerful: Empower, Heal, Thrive.

At Oak Haven, we understand that every child’s journey is unique. Many of our learners have faced challenges that have impacted their educational experience, and our role is to provide a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where they can rediscover their strengths, build resilience, and achieve their full potential.

We are proud to be a trauma-informed school, where relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Through relational practice, restorative approaches, and the PACE model, we ensure our pupils feel understood, valued, and supported in both their learning and wellbeing.

Our three learner pathways – Nurture, Thrive, and Aspire – are carefully designed to meet the diverse needs of our students, offering personalised support and opportunities that help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

At Oak Haven, success is not defined solely by academic outcomes, but by the progress each child makes in confidence, independence, and hope for the future. We are deeply committed to working in partnership with families, carers, and the wider community to ensure every child has the best possible opportunities to flourish.

I warmly invite you to explore our website and discover more about our values, our curriculum, and the vibrant life of our school.

Together, we can empower our young people to heal, thrive, and achieve brighter futures.

With warm regards,

Narda Sestanovic
